About Loopback: the name, and what it commits us to
Loopback is a Norwegian IT partner for small and medium-sized businesses, and we take on work across the whole of Norway. The name comes from networking – loopback is the address a machine uses for itself, 127.0.0.1, and what you send out should come back.

The name comes from networking. loopback is the interface a machine uses to talk to itself, at the address 127.0.0.1. The packet goes out and comes back to where it started.
That is the whole point of operations: what you send out should come back. The mark is that loop drawn as a figure – a ring opening towards the outside world, and a node in the middle that is you.

Three principles we work by
Always a number
Uptime, response time, price and lock-in are given with a figure and a measurement period. “Fast response” is not a promise, it is a feeling.
Plain English
Technical terms are explained the first time they are used. If something can be said with an ordinary word, we use the ordinary word.
We say what is not included
Every service has a boundary. It is in the quote, not in the difficult conversation three months later.
The numbers in principle one belong in the quote and in the agreement, not as promises on a website. Lock-in and notice period – ours, not only yours – are in writing there before you sign. If there is no lock-in, it says that too.
The third principle is easiest to see in practice: the seven services, with their boundaries.

What we do not have yet
Loopback is new. We have no customer reviews to show, and we do not publish uptime figures we have not measured ourselves.
What you can hold us to in the meantime is what is written on this site: the boundary for each service, what a quote from us has to contain, and what happens after you send an enquiry. The day the numbers exist, they come here – with the measurement period beside them.
